TERMS

Terms of service

Effective date: October 26, 2026

These terms cover your use of the Bibliotaph web service at bibliotaph.online. The short version: it's free, you keep what's yours, use it fairly, and it comes as it is.

Who we are

Bibliotaph is run by munkycdev, an individual in the USA ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy, which says what we keep and why. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

Bibliotaph catalogs the books in the storage you connect, so you can search and organise them. It is free, invite-only for now, and still being built: features may change, and we may pause or end the service. If we end it, we'll tell you at least 30 days before, so you can export your library.

These terms cover the service. The Bibliotaph software itself, the Windows app and the code of this website, is free software under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later, and nothing here limits what that licence lets you do with it. See Licences.

Other services

Bibliotaph works with services run by others: the account you sign in with, the storage you connect, an AI provider if you add a key, and online stores you import from. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we aren't responsible for them. Bibliotaph isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.

Using it fairly

Please don't:

If you find a security problem, please tell us privately; see Contact us.

Closing an account

You can close your account at any time from Settings, and we delete your library as the privacy policy describes. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you the chance to export your library.

No warranty

Bibliotaph is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Suggestions made by Bibliotaph or an AI may be wrong; check what matters to you.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Bibliotaph. Since the service is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you; nothing here limits rights the law says can't be limited.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the effective date above. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it applies. Using Bibliotaph after that means you accept the new terms; if you don't, you can close your account.
